Set on a 520 acre estate with a unique coastal setting, Fairmont St Andrews encapsulates luxury, elegance and truly breath-taking surroundings in the 'Home of Golf'. A truly unique and special venue that makes your visit one to remember with its peaceful setting and stunning cliff top views of St Andrews and the North Sea.

With huge gardens, a dramatic coastline and grand internal spaces the Fairmount Hotel lends itself perfectly to my style of wedding photography.

The hotel can be found just outside St Andrews, following the A917 it's only about a 7 min drive from St Andrews town centre.

venue details

The Fairmont is spectacular. It really is a hotel built to enormous scale, with the central atrium probably the stand out feature. Well, it's the stand out internal feature. Head outside and you have the Fife coastline to enjoy, which needs no promotion from me.

If you're getting married at the Fairmount I'd love to hear from you. I'm happy to answer any questions you might have about wedding photography at the venue or if you have any general photography questions feel free to get in touch.

The atrium is not only the obvious place for whole wedding photos, the light pouring through the ceiling is so soft it's like a giant softbox.

The second time I photographed a wedding here was for Dana & Glenn, the latter being the head groundskeeper. I'd been before and been able to borrow a buggy to get close to the coastline for some portraits and Glenn had let me know he knew of places no-one else really gets to use. I was really looking forward to seeing this and then the beast from the east struck Scotland! The weather was so bad the Fairmont's wedding coordinator called me to ask if I would still be attending the wedding! Of course, I replied. This isn't the kind of job where you just don't show up because of a bit of snow! In the end we had to use the atrium for most of our photos because it was so cold outside.
